And just like
that, a new month has arrived.
With it has come a shipment of shiny
new vinous delights.
To start,
let’s welcome the sleek champagnes
from some of our favourite growers.
Benoît Lahaye is indisputably
one of Montagne-de-Reims’ most
respected growers — second to none in
his home grand cru commune of Bouzy —
and we’re so happy that our eagerly
awaited allocation has now landed.
This is also the time of year when
the latest releases of Alexandre
Chartogne’s mind-blowing
single-vineyard cuvées join our
collection of Chartogne-Taillet
champagnes. Along with the perennial
cult favourites Les Barres and
Les Orizeaux, come two more
highly distinctive single-plot cuvées,
Les
Heurtebises and Les Couarres.
Each one is a collectible in its own
right.
And yes, the
love potion L’Aphrodisiaque
is finally here. Made only in specific
vintages, this is the second iteration
of this ravishing Champagne über-cuvée
by biodynamic virtuoso David
Léclapart. We’ve managed to
score a top-up to our parcel, so if
you missed out the first time around,
don’t miss this second chance.
More 2018 Burgundy gems are making
their way onto our shelves now too.
From the classic white burgundies of Fontaine-Gagnard,
to the very pretty and perfumed Naudin-Ferrand
wines from Claire Naudin, to prized
wines from the ‘it’ Vosne-Romanée
domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, there
is every flavour, nuance, style and
shade of colour to cater to every
Burgundy lover’s fancy.

Vintage 2019 in Beaujolais is
thrilling, and in these new drops we
find some excellent ambassadors.
Always constant favourites, new releases
from the acclaimed Jean-Claude
Lapalu are now here. We’re also
over the moon to get our hands on the
latest releases from cult vigneron Christian
Ducroux. These are remarkably
expressive and pristine terroir-driven
gamays from one of the region’s most
revered names. Love Beaujolais? Get in
on this insider’s secret now.
Last but hardly least, from the Rhône
valley, look out for the newest
ethereal Syrahs of Hervé Souhaut,
and special gems from our beloved
friend François Bouillot under his Bouillot-Salomon
label. These are low-intervention
wines done right — high in personality
and complexity, they’re exemplars that
will do their genre proud.
